Orchestral Compositions Recorded in Ostrava, CZ
On September 11th, 2023, an exciting recording session took place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, featuring the compositions of Nina Ferić. The Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, conducted by maestro Jiří Petrdlík, collaborated with PARMA Recordings on bringing the music by Croatian composer Nina Ferić to life.
Two of Nina’s compositions, “Jure and the Sea” and “Tales from Croatia: Fairies at Play,” were expertly recorded under the supervision of PARMA’s Grammy award-nominated engineer and session producer Jan Košulič. Both pieces are deeply rooted in Croatian musical traditions, enriched by Nina’s diverse career as a pianist and her piano transcriptions of renowned film music. The Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava excelled in performing Nina Ferić’s compositions. The orchestra’s Slavic heritage provided a perfect match for the cultural nuances within Nina’s music.
As Nina Ferić continues to expand her “Tales from Croatia” by composing more movements, we at PARMA Recordings and Navona Records all hope to have the opportunity to continue helping to bring Nina’s music to life through recording and releasing it to the worldwide audience.
